PROSPECTUS

This enrolment form must be completed, initialled and signed and then submitted together with proof of payment of the enrolment fee, which includes a registration fee of R600, school uniform fee of R850 and the first instalment of school fees.

Should you withdraw your child for any reason whatsoever, you will have to pay the full registration fee again when he/she returns.

Learners are not required to register every year, however, a return form will have to be completed and returned to the school by 1st December of the current year, for the following year.

SCHOOL FEES

School fees are payable in advance, on or before the 1st of the month.

The total , which covers annual fees of R15 400 and R1 450 admission fee (incl. registration fee and one uniform set) but may be paid in terms.Please in the block next to the payment term that you are choosing:

The fees must be paid in full by the 1st of the month even if the child only begins attending in the middle of the month or is absent from school for any reason whatsoever during that month or those months. No absenteeism shall give rise to any entitlement of disounts on school fees.

WRITTEN NOTICE

One calendar month’s written notice is required when withdrawing your child from the school between the months January and September. From 1 October, one term’s written notice is required and the term’s fees must be paid for in full.

ECLAH PRE-SCHOOL UNIFORM

Learners are not permitted to wear the school uniform of other schools when attending ECLAH Pre-school.

ECLAH Pre-School uniform can only be purchased from ECLAH Pre-school branches.

If your child brings an item home from school that does not belong to him or her, please return it to school.

ECLAH Pre-school will not be held responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of your child’s uniform items, shoes, underwear, bags, clothing items and extra-mural gear.

Uniform will if it is used, written on, labelled, washed, or dirty. Uniform can only be returned or exchanged within 30 days of collection if it is in it’s original condition and packaging.

GRADUATION POLICY

Only registered ECLAH Pre-school learners who have been attending at a ECLAH Pre-school branch for 9 months or more and were born before 30 June 2013 are eligible to graduate at the end of 2018.

PROGRESS REPORTS
-
Progress reports are issued at least twice a year and can be with-held if there are any outstanding monies due to the school.

When children turn 2 years old, the school will begin toilet-training.Parent cooperation is vital to ensure that the process is successful.The aim is for learners to be fully trained to use the toilet independentantly, by the age of 3 years old.

Children that are 36 months old and older will not be accepted if they are not fully toilet-trained.

OPERATING DAYS AND HOURS
-
ECLAH Pre-School operates strictly from , except on the last day of school, on which the operating hours are .

Learners must be at school by 08:00am daily and must be picked up before 5:30pm daily.

Absenteeism or late coming must be reported to the ECLAH Pre-school branch that your child is enrolled at, as soon as possible.

Failure to fetch your child by 5:30pm will result in a penalty, of R100 per 15min interval e.g. R100 between 5:31pm and 5:45pm; R200 between 5:46pm and 6:00pm; R300 between 6:01pm and 6:15pm etc.; which must be paid directly into the school bank account by the very next day.

In case of a crisis e.g. protest action preventing staff from coming to work, or natural disasters e.g. flooding, or the property is unsuitable for occupation e.g. due to fire, burglary, etc., the school will be closed for the duration of the crisis.

ECLAH PRE-SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

ECLAH Pre-school is closed on all public holidays.

If a public holiday falls on a Tuesday, then Monday (the day before) will be an ECLAH Pre-school holiday.

If a public holiday falls on a Thursday, then Friday (the day after) will be an ECLAH Pre-school holiday.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A LEARNER IS SICK?
-
Learners that are sick and untreated; suffering from diarrhoea or vomitting; have unknown; or contagious conditions e.g. mumps; chicken pox; measles; ringworms; lice; TB; pinkeye; etc. are not be permitted to attend school until they are cleared by a medical doctor and a medical certificate has been submitted.

If you bring medicine for your child to school, please ; complete & sign the medicine register at school and; give the medicine to the teacher on duty.If you do not complete the medicine register, the medication will not be administered.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A LEARNER GETS HURT?
-
When a learner gets hurt at school, the teacher must complete an incident report and inform the parent/guardian/person who fetches the learner.
-
The parent/guardian/person who fetches the learner must sign the incident report to confirm that they were informed of the incident.
-
If the injury requires immediate medical attention, the parent will be contacted to fetch the child from school to take him/her to the doctor.
-
The Parent agrees that in an emergency requiring medical attention or hospitalisation, the Parent accepts responsibility for and agrees to bear all medical costs and expenses in relation to the Parent’s child under these circumstances.
-
In a case when another learner has hurt your child in any way whatsoever, you are not permitted to contact, scold, discipline or reprimand the learner involved, or address his/her parents.
-
If the incident in question requires external professional or specialist council, the parent/s of the child/ren involved will be notified in writing, and they will receive a written referral to a professional for counselling and assessment. If the counselling or assessments require payment, each parent has to pay towards their own child’s counselling/assessment. ECLAH Pre-school will NOT be liable for any costs.

SAFETY & SECURITY

It is compulsory to complete the arrival and departure sheet when bringing your child/ren to school AND again when fetching them.

Every time you send someone other than yourself/ves and the people stated above, to fetch your child/ren, you must contact the school to inform the teachers or management beforehand.

It is your responsibility as a parent to contact the school and/or management, to ensure that your child/ren have been fetched timeously..

PARENTS’ MEETINGS

An agenda for the meeting will be sent to all the parents prior to, or put up at the meeting

Matters that are not on the agenda will be addressed individually with the relevant parent, after the meeting has been adjourned.

Parents are expected to attend every meeting and excuse themselves in writing, if they are not able toattend.

CODE OF CONDUCT BETWEEN PARENTS AND STAFF

Parents are not permitted to employ any member of staff, for any job whatsoever, nor to buy and sell products and services, during or outside the school’s operating hours.
-
All complaints, compliments, queries about the school, policies, programs and/or staff members must be addressed with management , not verbally, and not with staff.
-
ECLAH Pre-school encourages a healthy relationship between management, staff and parents based on mutual respect and appreciation; promoting the best interests of the children.Gossiping; yelling; physical assault or the threat thereof; and the use of profanity, by any of the parties, are strictly forbidden.

The school shall notify the parent in writing of any breach, and the parents shall have 7 days to remedy. Shall the breach not be remedied within 7 days, the school shall have the right to expel the learner effective immiediately at the expiry of the 7 day period to remedy the breach.Breaches such as:

Parents’ failure to adhere to the school fees payment policy

Parents’ repeated failure to adhere to the school’s operating hours e.g. fetching a child after 5:30pm and not paying the penalty.

Parents’ being verbally and/or physically abusive to or threatening staff members

Parents refusing to take a learner, suspected of having a behavioural problem, for professional assessment

Parents refusing to take a child to the doctor when ill or refusing to treat the child effectively

The parties recognise and acknowledge the impetuous and impulsive nature of children. In view of this, staff and management at the school have been instructed to take every precaution to the best of their ability to ensure the children’s safety. However, neither staff, management or any other persons connected to ECLAH Pre-school will accept any liability for any claims arising from any accident, injury, death, loss, theft suffered by the child, at school or on school trips (including transporation to and from such trips), due to criminal acts or acts of negligence by outsiders or incidents that fall outside their responsibilities and duties while acting with due diligence and care and in the course and scope of their duties.Furthermore, the Parent agrees to waive and abandon any claims, which may, at any time, arise as aforesaid, both in the Parent’s personal capacity, and in the Parent’s capacity as a parent or as guardian of the child, and the Parent expressly indemnifies the management and staff or connected person(s) against any claim which may arise or be instituted unless criminal negligence is proven against such member of staff, management or connected person in a court of law.

Should the school instruct its attorneys and/or institute legal proceedings against the applicant (i.e. parent or guardian), as a result of the applicants’ breach of contract or failure to adhere to the prospectus, rules and regulations, then, the applicant will be held liable for all the legal costs; attorney and client charges; tracing fees; and collection commission incurred by the school.

ECLAH Pre-school often uses photographs of the children in the marketing and promotional material and posts on the ECLAH Pre-school Facebook page. In addition, photographs are taken at school events.
